Beautiful pictures, and I love the glimpse into a different culture. On one of my writing lists, we’re talking about surviving an apocalyptic disaster, and that’s a good point. In the US, it’s generally frowned on to go shopping on garbage day (umm, totally NOT looking at the cats favorite cat tree that we picked out of someone’s discards in Alameda), but many countries with less of a disposable mentality will notice the lack of replacements a lot slower.

The cobblestone(?) on the street with the fireworks is gorgeous…it looks like marble tile!

Question though…in your picture of the old port there is a small blue boat. Are those standard 10′ or so skiffs, or something much smaller. Because if that is a 10′ boat my scale for that image is waaay off (to me they look ~maybe 5′ long!)

Ok first, and probably referencing a movie you haven’t seen yet – but everytime you say “the Navi” I think – they’ve got a native guide?

2nd – is the sun salutation right on the water? In your video (which is fantastic btw) it looks like you’d walk off the edge and disappear!

I wonder what the sign on that arch said. It sort of looks like it was put in to stop the road from migrating down the hill, but it could just be random art

Wow, that’s quite an adventure. The only thing I couldn’t figure out is why you didn’t stop at home to drop your stuff first. Of course that’s assuming you knew how to get there and back . Welcome home.

So I’m confused – I thought you spent X-mas in Slovenia…Ljubljana. So are you headed back to Slovenia and just going to a different part or have I missed something?
